201 Shower

A trip through the process of cabin 201's shower remodel.

201 had twenty year old tile-on-wood walls and a cast iron tub. Over time water began seaping into the wall framing and floor, and the heavy tub began to sag.

The wall rot.

Some fresh patch up framing, a new solid floor, and new plumbing.

Fresh hardibacker and a new pre-fab shower pan.

And a finished shower (waiting on a glass door and two more heads).

Handicapped Accessible Shower/Bathroom

I did this bathroom for Sleepy Forest Cottages in Big Bear Lake. The existing bathroom was ripped out completely. My friend Kenny came in and poured the pan. Then it was wrapped and painted with a waterproof membrane. I layed the floor, built and waterproofed the two bench seats, tiled the walls, and finished the job.

I trimmed and painted the doors, plumbed and installed the toilet and pedestal sink, and hung the medicine cabinet.

We went with a marble threshold, which ties in nicely to just about any other flooring material.

Diamond Bar Tub/Shower and Floor

This bathroom was in need. The old tub was removed. I pulled up the old tile floor, wrapped the walls in plastic and Hardibacker, and had the new tub installed. The shower and floor were done in travertine, with tumbled marble for the border.

Five Headed Shower

This was a shower and floor for Sleepy Forest Cottages in Big Bear Lake. The Fiberglass shower pan was installed, and the tile went up from there. There is almost a southwest look to this job, with lots of rich colors. And as you can see there is, on one wall, a shower head and three body spray heads.

Bathroom for Mom and Dad

This was a shower and floor that I did in a small bathroom for my parents. Both shower and floor were done mostly in leftover and hand-me-down tile of different colors and sizes. This required a bit of creativity, but I think it came out looking nice. So do Mom and Dad.
